David Silfen (1946 - 2015) graduated from Columbia Business School as a Master of Business Administration in 1968 and later served on the school's Board of Overseers.
After graduating from Columbia Business School, David Silfen was instrumental in building the equities derivatives business at Goldman Sachs & Co., and Mr. Silfen eventually served as the firm's co-head of equities division.
Mr. Silfen retired in 1996 as a general partner and member of the executive committee after 28 years with the company. At the time, he was the longest-tenured among the firm’s 173 partners.
David and Lyn's dedication to leadership philosophy paved the way for their support of the leadership speaker series at Columbia Business School, aiming to strengthen bonds between the leaders of today and the future leaders of tomorrow.
David & Lyn have two children Adam & Jane, and two grandchildren.
